Seeing is More Powerful than Thinking

Thinking first is how a lot of MBA's are trained these days to make decisions. The science of analyzing. It limits the possibilities that can show up. There are two other approaches to business that are far more intuitive and interactive – seeing first and acting first.
Professor Henry Mintzburg is an internationally renowned academic and
author on business and management at the McGill MBA program in Montreal. He's a champion for using seeing and acting more than thinking first.

The greatest way to see and act first is to ask empowering questions and getting your awareness to go to work for you…
The Power of Intuition

Are you using the power of intution in your business?
How many times have you done all your research and come up with all your reasons for doing something and it still didn’t feel right? Did you go ahead anyway? How did that work out? Chances are that it didn’t always work out the way you decided it should.
And how about the times when you really didn’t have base your choice on concrete reason, but one particular choice just felt really right and you went for it. And it turned out great? You made the sale, partnered with the right person or
In his book The Power of Intuition, Gary Klein talks about how your brain runs “action scripts” to filter through cues and see developing patterns. He lists 26 different sources of information to consider to strengthen your inuition.
Yes there are cues or clues that prompt your knowing. But intuition is not a mechanistic cause and effect computer. As well as taking cues from past experiences and learned behavior, you have the faculty of reading energy. Especially interacting with people, there’s an energy, a vibration to people that everyone reads. And even situations have an energy to them. What I’m saying is, don’t make the mistake of thinking that intuition just goes on in another part of your brain. Intuition is much bigger than that.
Intuition is a creative power of the universe. You are not just a brain in a physical body. You have access to a whole universe of information and wisdom. All you have to do is ask. The most powerful way to prompt your intuition to work for you is to ask questions. Ask questions and wait for an answer to come to you. Don’t try to figure it out with your mind. Your mind is limited. Your awareness isn’t.
Intutiion is really awareness. The whole universe is aware. For instance, scientists have shown how plants respond to the thoughts of people observing them. So why limit the information that can inform your choices. When you ask a question and wait for the whole universe to provide answers, you open up infinite possibilities of making the best choice. And usually without a lot of time consuming research.
So ask a question and wait for an answer to come to you. It can come to you in so many sometimes strange ways. A song on the radio, a totally unrelated conversation or a dream like James Watson’s dream that revealed the molecular structure of DNA. Be willing to receive an answer in any way, shape or form.
And be willing to recognize the energy that matches what you’re looking for. Again ask. Asking a question may seem so simple, yet it’s a powerful way to access knowledge.
You can ask: “What would it take for me to quickly and easily recognize the best choice in this situation?”
Try it. Let me know if that opens up more power of intuition for you.
